Chester Joseph Kovaleski, 92, of Westwood, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2025. Beloved husband of Kathleen of over 65 years. Devoted father of Chester J. Kovaleski (Emily). Loving grandfather of Dr. Christopher Kovaleski (Dr. Natalie) and Dr. Curtis Kovaleski. Cherished great grandfather of Jack and Maddie.
Born in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania to Charles and Lottie Kovaleski, he lived in Westwood for many years. Chester was an English and Social Studies Teacher and Supervisor with the Bergenfield Board of Education for 43 years.
He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Our Lady of Victories Church in Harrington Park. The family will receive their relatives and friends on Friday, July 25, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ 07675.
A Mass celebrating Chester's life and faith will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Our Lady of Victories, 155 Parkway, Harrington Park, NJ 07640. The burial will be private.
