Played Football next to Ed in 1954 . Proud to be a Mitey Mite alongside Big Ed. Met at 65th. reunion years later. Great guy. Will always remember his humor and team spirit. Our condolonces to the Family.

I have been a neighbor of "Big Ed" for many decades, but I only met him during the last year or so.  Previously, when I worked, I took regular walks in the evening.  However, after I retired, I started to walk during the day.  Frequently, when I reached the top of Magnolia and turned onto 10th Street, I would see Ed sitting next to the tree stump at his home.  Over time, we started to chat.  He always had a smile for me and we would exchange pleasantries.  I began to look forward to seeing him as I approached the top of the hill.  I was stunned when our mutual neighbor informed me of his death last week.  I was also shocked at how sad the news made me.  Although I had only know Ed a short time, he clearly had an impact on me.  I will miss him.

To Helga, Marty and the entire Seitz family our heartfelt sympathy on the loss of "Big Ed". 

He was one of a kind for your family and everyone else he included in his extended family. That could mean just about everyone he met!

A unique character, blessed with a huge heart, a big laugh and a wonderful outlook on enjoying every minute he was given on this earth. Oh how he "kvelled" when talking about his family and what you were all doing.

Ed embodied the following thought:

but only ONE "Big Ed" that all of us had the privilege of meeting and getting to know.

Our lives on this planet were enhanced by the whispering voice of Ed Seitz booming across the room whenever we got to see him.

He will be missed!

My friend , We all will miss your huge smile and wide open arms for your big hugs and of course your jokes. We will always remember the fun times when Christmas tree shopping and the German rummy games up at the lake.  Auf wiedersehen, Schultz from the Hennessy Family. We will miss "Schultz" dearly.  It has been a true pleasure knowing him all these years.  We will forever remember all the laughs that we shared and all the fun that we always had together.   He always had a smile on his face and often a silly joke.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.   We will keep him in our heart always. 

He and Charlotte are probably looking down on us and we're sure, continuing to laugh together.

My husband Paul and I work at the Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home and every time Eddy would come to make a pick up for Garden State, the first thing he would do is come upstairs in the building to my office for a hot cup of coffee.  I'd call my husband up and the two of us would laugh with Ed.  He was a joy to talk with and always bragged about his family and grandchildren that he loved so much.  He would even call his wife up and tell her that she had to meet us.
Ed you will be very missed!

Ed will be missed. He always had a smile and conversation coming to Garden State Crematory when making his daily runs. He had just visited us two weeks ago and brought crumb cake and had coffee with us. A last hug and kiss when he left! So many memories of Ed.

Dear Mrs. Seitz and family,

All of us at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Homes, West Islip are deeply saddened to hear of Ed’s passing.  He was a very kind and giving gentleman whom we all looked forward to seeing on his “trips” to Long Island.  When I first heard the news, the very first thing that came to mind was his warm smile and the caring concern he had for his fellow associates as well as the dedication he had towards the families we serve.     He will be sorely missed.  But, rest assured, I’m sure he will not be forgotten and hopefully we will carry on with what we learned from him.    Our thoughts and prayers are with you, his family.

Big Ed knew how to light up a room!  He will be missed very much.  Heaven won't be the same with Big Ed in the house! ❤️

George, our staff and I always looked forward to Ed's visits, whether he was here for required business or just to say hi as he was passing through.
