Eileen is lovingly remembered by her daughter Kathaleen Morton Stumpf; her sons Joseph Morton Jr. and his wife Elizabeth, and James Morton and his wife Celine. She was a proud grandmother to Devin, Justin, Tracy, Kristen, and Michael; great-grandmother to Kolin, Jadielyn, and Mateo; and great-great-grandmother to Jax. She also leaves behind her niece Trish and nephews George, Vincent, and James.
She was predeceased by her husband's Joseph Morton, Sr., and Patrick Camier, Sr., adoptive mother Carol Fitzpatrick; her sister Joan Morton; brothers Robert McCann and James McCann; and her grandson Joseph.
Born on May 5, 1934, Eileen led a life marked by dedication and service. She worked as a telephone operator for Bell Atlantic and later served as a lunch aide at Our Lady of Mercy School in the Bronx, NY. Her commitment to nurturing others continued as the supervisor of the Lunch Program at St. Elizabeth School in Washington Heights, Manhattan NY, and as housekeeping manager at Cathedral Farms in Oneonta, NY.
Eileen found joy in simple pleasures—playing bingo, bowling with friends, enjoying card games, spending time with her dogs and cats, and playing the slot machines in Atlantic City.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 14th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Becker Funeral Home in Westwood. A prayer service will take place at 6:00 p.m. during the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Eileen’s memory.
Her warmth and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
