Elizabeth Anne Libby

LIBBY, Elizabeth Anne (née Liston), of Ramsey, NJ, passed away on Christmas morning, December 25th, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife to her husband of 57 years, Edward Libby Sr., of Ramsey, NJ. Born November 8th, 1939, she grew up in Middle Village, Queens, NY with her 3 Siblings; Ginny, Tommy and Jackie. The daughter of John Gregory and Elizabeth Catherine Liston. “Boobie” as she was lovingly know by all closest to her, married Edward Libby on May 23rd, 1964 and raised three children in Westwood, NJ. Boobie has many loves in addition to her family.

She was an amazing cook, passionate traveler, exceptional hostess and lover of all creatures of nature. She often teased that she liked animals more than people. Betsy and Ed bought a summer home in The Thousand Islands region of NY in the spring of 1982 where the family spent many happy summers boating, fishing and celebrating nature. She dedicated many years on the Westwood Ambulance Corps where she was proud to serve as Captain. Betsy could tell a story! She loved sharing stories of travels, old movies, movie stars and family adventures. Boobie instilled a great love for entertaining in her children, many a rainy afternoon was spent in the family room of her Westwood home listening and singing along to records and dancing. Every birthday and holiday was celebrated to the fullest. The traditions she instilled in her family will live on in her honor forever.

In addition to her husband Ed, Betsy is survived by her three children: Lizzie and her husband Steve, Gregory and his wife Linda and Edward Jr.; her grandchildren; Mackenzie, Samantha, Madison and Mason; her beloved nieces and nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and great-grandnephews, as well as extended family and friends.
