Elsie Ortiz (Charbonier), a longtime resident of Westwood, NJ, passed away on March 31, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on August 6, 1932, in Carolina, PR. Elsie is predeceased by her husband Angel Luis Ortiz Sr., her mother, Irene Diaz, and her siblings Rita Nieves (Augustine), Miguel Charbonier and Haydee Ramos(Jose Antonio).
Mother of Angel Luis Ortiz Jr., Vilma Ortiz, Olga Mahoney (Brian).
Grandmother of Cassandra (Ryan), Kimberly, Brian, Aubrey, Sean, Isaiah and Christopher. Great grandmother of Christopher and Evan.
Aunt of many nieces and nephews whom she loved like her own.
Dedicated daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Elsie was a Sales Associate at Woolworth’s Hackensack, NJ and LN Grand, Westwood, NJ.
She enjoyed spending time outdoors, walking, tending to her garden and plants, visiting Van Saun Park and riding the merry go round, crocheting, arts/ crafts, spending time with her family and vacationing down the Jersey shore.
Cremation was private to be followed by a private memorial prayer service in the future.
