VENTIMIGLIA, Eugene A., II, 54, of River Vale, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025 surrounded by family. Beloved wife to Myla (nee Ambrocio). Loving father to his children Emily, Ella, and Luca. Survived by loving his mother Anne (nee Van Camp), his siblings Andrew, Anthony, Edward, Julie Tino and her husband Brian, mother in-law Rose Ambrocio, father in-law Cezario Ambrocio, sister in-law Theresa Cafe and brother in-law Theodoro Cafe. Born in Paterson, NJ to Anne and Eugene Ventimiglia Sr., he was a true adventurer. Eugene lived to travel and explore, to discover and to learn. He loved the outdoors, spending his summers at the beach in Lavalette and avidly hiking any new trail he discovered. Passionate about being a Scoutmaster, he regularly went camping with his son and his Boy Scout troop.
Eugene went to college at NJIT to study computer science and later became a system administrator working for companies such as Buzzfeed, Grubhub, CodeAcademy, and ZocDoc. A renaissance man like his father, he always had an interest of opening his own business. In October of 2023 he, along with his wife, purchased Blueberry Frozen Yogurt in Oakland.
Eugene was a human encyclopedia, knowledgeable about any topic - from literature, art, and film, to all things relating to history, science, mathematics. He was heavily active in the music scene in his youth, and would carry this love for music throughout his life, sharing artists with his children and never hesitating to drive them hours away for concerts. He loved community, helping prepare and serve Thanksgiving meals for the less fortunate in Bergen County for over ten years. His opinion was strong and his voice spoke his truth. Never caring about what others thought of him, Eugene truly marched to the beat of his own drum. He did things in his own unique way and taught himself anything he found interest in. An incredible leader, inspiring presence, and compassionate friend. We will forever honor his memory and mark on the world.
The family will receive guests at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Rd., Westwood, NJ on Tuesday, July 8th from 5 PM - 9 PM. A Mass celebrating Eugene's life and faith will be held at St. Andrew R.C. Church in Westwood, NJ on Wednesday, July 9th at 12 PM.
