Evalyn (nee. Gattoni), age 89, of New Milford, NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday March 27th, 2025. Evalyn was the daughter of the late Evelyn (nee Larder) and Stephan A Gattoni. On August 9, 1958, Evalyn married Richard Jule Weissenborn at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Fort Lee, NJ. Loving wife of Richard J. (Rick) Weissenborn. Devoted mother and mother- in- law to Richard and Theresa Weissenborn, Robert and Linda Weissenborn, Lynn and Cory DeRobertis. Evalyn was loved and admired by her five grandchildren: Cortney and James Weissenborn, Tierney and Lexi DeRobertis, and Richie Weissenborn. Evalyn graduated from Fort Lee High School in June of 1954. From September 1954 to May 1955, Evalyn attended Adelphi University in Garden City, Long Island. She also took post graduate education courses and received her Provisional Teaching Certificate as a Substitute Teacher from 1958 to 1959. Two important moments in Evalyn’s life were her graduation from Barnard College, Columbia University in 1958 with a B.A. degree in Psychology and becoming the Admissions Director of Woodcrest Center Nursing Home from 1975-1998. She was a devoted member and leader of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church for over fifty years. The family will receive their relatives and friends at the Becker Funeral Home on Monday, March 31st, 2025, from 3pm to 7pm. A funeral will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church on Tuesday, April 1st, 2025, at 10am. Entombment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park.
