Frank A. Brescia

Frank shared 62 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Linda (née Davis). Together they raised three daughters: Jennifer Plunkett (husband Chris), Christine Pellegrin (husband Terrence), and Susanne Gelayder (husband Todd). He was a proud grandfather to Erin, Patrick, T.J., Danny, Oliver, Joshua, Jun-Ha, and Bin.

He is also remembered by his brother Robert Brescia (wife Maryleth), and his sister Anne Mulligan (husband Bob), and his loving niece and nephews.

Frank graduated from Memorial High School in West New York with honors and continued his education at St. Peter’s in Jersey City where he achieved his Bachelor's Degree in Economics. He attended Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island.

Frank was a proud veteran and was enlisted in the US Navy ranking LTJG from 1962 to 1965. He bravely served our country during the Vietnam War. Frank was stationed in Long Beach, California for 3 years and did three 6-month tours in Southeast Asia.

Following his military service, Frank built a successful career at Bankers Trust, where he worked for 25 years and retired in 1990 as Vice President of Operations. His dedication and leadership left a lasting impact on colleagues and clients alike. Later in his career Frank worked for Prudential Life Insurance, Volvo, and Macy’s.

Frank enjoyed many pastimes throughout his life, including golf, softball with his team the Demarest Loan Sharks, reading books and the newspaper, watching the Mets and NCIS, as well as spending many summers in Long Beach Island with his family - cherished traditions that brought him joy and relaxation.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Becker Funeral Home in Westwood. A prayer will be held on Friday evening at 6:00 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Haworth, followed by interment at Brookside Cemetery in Englewood.
