Frank is predeceased by his beloved, wife of 75 years, Ida. He is survived by his four children, Donna, Patricia, Frank (Karen) and Gregory (Cathy), his grandchildren Dylan, Jenna, Nicholas, Sophia and Ava, and his great grandchildren Adrianna and Damien.
Frank was born in Newark and grew up in Nutley, NJ. He met his wife, Ida when her family immigrated to the US from Italy when he was 12 years of age. A friendship turned into a lifelong romance and a marriage of 75 years. They were devoted to each other and their family.
After attending Seton Hall University, in 1950, and after their marriage, Frank attended medical school at the University of Rome in Italy, where he and Ida lived for five years. Frank always said those were such happy years.
Frank was one of the first medical doctors at Pascack Valley Hospital when it opened in 1959 and the first doctor in River Vale where he practiced for 56 years. Frank had many hobbies, he loved to golf, fish, was an avid reader and loved to travel with his family.
Noting the absence of team sport in River Vale, Frank and a few friends established the River Vale Junior Football Association in 1973 of which he was the President until his sons went to high school. The River Vale Raiders still exist today.
Frank was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and was dearly loved by them all. He will be greatly missed.
A funeral mass is scheduled on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pius X in Old Tappan, NJ.
