In the care of Becker Funeral Home
Frank Lin, was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at the age of 93.
He was born on June 14, 1931 in Tainan, Taiwan, the oldest of eight children. He studied Civil Engineering at the National Taipei University of Technology. In his early 30's shortly after meeting and marrying his wife, Fui Fang, he emigrated from his homeland to the United States, to be able to continue his studies, and find work, so that he could later bring his bride to the U.S. too and start a family. They lived apart from one another for almost three years so that he could get established. He became a Civil Engineer for the City of New York, and worked there until he retired at age of 85. They first lived in the Bronx, NY, but then eventually settled into Bergen County, NJ, and raised their children and grandchildren together for the next 50 years together.
When not working, Frank enjoyed fixing his own automobiles, landscaping and gardening, reading, and discussing politics with his friends at church. He also loved his grandchildren, and would make every attempt to be at their school events or when they were playing sports or any other activities, just so he could be with them and support them. Upon retirement, he mostly spent his final years at home, enjoying his large book collection, reading, watching Japanese television, attending church, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Frank is predeceased by his beloved wife, Fui-Fang. He is survived by his children; Nelson Lin, Suzanne van Veen and her husband Hans. He is the cherished grandfather of Brandon, Kyra, Lukas, Thijs, and Johan.
Interment will take place at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale, NY, with services to be held privately. Please share fond memories at below.
