Gaetano "Guy" Spera

SPERA, Gaetano “Guy”, 82, of Upper Saddle River, NJ, formerly of Emerson, NJ, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015. He was born in San Sebastiano, Italy to Michele and Gemma Spera. He came to the United States in 1935 on the ship, The Rex. He grew up in Astoria, NY with his sibling, Dina, and his late siblings Costantino, Sebastiano and Irene. He was the beloved husband of his late wife Theresa who he married in 1957. Devoted father of Jo-Ann Picciallo and her late husband Steven, and Charles Spera and his wife Camille. Loving grandfather of Theresa Picciallo, Michael Spera and Amanda Spera. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. He served our country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was the founder of Sound One Corp., a post production facility in New York City. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 3 from 2-4 and 7-9PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating Gaetano’s life and faith will be held at Church of the Assumption, Emerson, NJ on Wednesday, November 4 at 10AM. Entombment will follow at Garden of Memories Mausoleum, Twp. of Washington, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gaetano’s name to the American Heart Association.
