George was born on July 2, 1961 to Fausto and Jenny Cornejo (nee Loza) in Duran, Ecuador. George and his family immigrated from Ecuador to New York in 1962, where they created a new life together. After graduating from The Bronx High School of Science in 1978, he went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Iona College.
After graduation, George pursued a career in Information Technology at NYC Health and Hospital Cooperation at Metropolitan Hospital. In 1989, he met Martha Lopez while working at Coney Island Hospital. George and Martha fell madly in love and wed the following year in 1990; and moved into their first apartment with her son Philip Dominguez in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. Together, they had two children, Daniel Fausto (1990) and Marissa Dana (1996).
George was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. George and Martha moved from Brooklyn, NY into their family home in Hillsdale, NJ in 1993, where they built a beautiful life together with their children. They later had a second home together in Ft. Lauderdale, FL where they planned to retire together. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. George was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and a life-long learner and academic. He was passionate about all things home-improvement and always managed to fix anything. He also loved to share his love of the outdoors with his wife and children and his favorite hiking spot was Ramapo Reservation in Mahwah, NJ.
Anyone who knew George knew that he was the most loving husband and father a family could ask for.
