Helen McDermott(nee Walsh), 76, of Norwood, NJ, formerly of Bergenfield, NJ, on Sunday, November 28, 2010. Helen spent time as a waitress and enjoyed being a homemaker. Helen was born in Englewood, NJ to Patrick and Annie Walsh. Beloved wife of John "Jack" F. McDermott, Sr. Devoted mother of John F. McDermott, Jr. and his wife Diane, Myles P. McDermott and his wife Mary, Francis X. McDermott and his wife Jennifer, Patrick T. McDermott and his wife Tiiu. Dear sister of Robert Walsh, Elizabeth Berardo and her late sisters and brothers, Patrick, Myles, James, Mickey, Alicia, Annie, Mary, Richard, Kevin and Thomas. Loving grandmother of Lindsay, Johnny, Sean, Lauren, Patrick, Carly, Colin and Ryan. Helen is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Liturgy at Church of St. Anthony, 199 Walnut Street, Northvale, NJ on Thursday at 10 AM. Interment, Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Tenafly, NJ. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made in Helen's name to either, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or American Heart Association .
