I cannot believe another year has gone by since your passing. Many times during the years I think of you and all the fun times we had together, by ourselves and also with your family and friends. Being across the pond means I don't get to see your family but try and keep up with the news via Karen looking through Facebook. Miss you mate. Jim

Not a day goes by when I don't think about you and all the kindness you gave me during my many visits to your home. You went far to soon but the one thing that provides comfort is that you are now at peace with the world with no more suffering. God bless you mate.

I can't believe another year has gone since my best friend John's passing. Not a day goes by when I am not reminded of you in some way, your humour, your friendship, your kindness and thoughtfulness and of course not forgetting your DIY skills!! Well it goes without saying that I miss you and I hope you are being treated well and are at peace in your 'new life'. Not a day goes by when thoughts of our friendship come into my head. You are still very much missed but I can look back to some amazing times, none more than sitting in the family room drinking a Glass of Glava and listening to bolero at top volume. I am sitting here watching the late running masters and seeing Phil Mickelson's face after a poor shot so reminded me of John on so many of his shots! During my visits we played a number of rounds and both of us never laughed so much in our lives. You could not want a better 19th hole companion. Rest in peace John the world is certainly poorer with your passing. Jim and Karen

I've always loved John and looked forward to seeing him at family gatherings, including Christmas at the Jaffes.

His mind was sharp and so was his wit. I love the animated way that he told stories. He had a wonderful sense of humor and made you laugh.

I would have a drink with him anywhere! And John, if you're listening, the next round is on me.

From the first time I met John on visiting the US for the first time he welcomed me to his home and right from the start I felt completely at ease in his presence. I felt no judgement and he had a wonderful knack of assuaging any nervousness on my part. There were many times spent round a dinner table where his open mindedness led to great conversation. My sons Daniel and James have never forgotten times spent with John and his family especially John insisting on pancakes for breakfast on their 10th & 8th birthdays spent in NJ some 20 years ago or John's sense of fun. I found John to be totally authentic and above all kind. I was privileged to know him and he will be sadly missed. Love Karen

There are so many memories so where do I begin!

I first met John in his office at Willcox. I worked for Willis in the UK and the two Companies had a long standing business relationship. We hit it off immediately it was like we had known each other for years.  We shared the same sense of humour and fun, our mutual love of music and of course we both liked to relax whilst listening to music with a drink or two or more! John from the very start made me feel welcome both in and out of work. On my second visit John kindly arranged a dinner for me and the staff in his office I was involved with. This was somewhere in NJ (sorry it was a long time ago and I don't remember the name of the place) however I have one lasting memory of that evening. I was staying in a hotel in the City but John said he didn't want me travelling back late at night so I should stay at his house, Immediately we got to the house John made me welcome and said to help myself to anything I needed (not the best silver though) I immediately felt at home but there was more to come. When we decided to call it a night I went to my room and on my bed was a towel for the shower in the morning, a clean shirt, a new pair of underwear, new toothbrush and paste. How thoughtful was that? I am embarrassed to say that I probably would not have left anything other than the towel. John was so caring and thoughtful and in the years that followed he continued to show those natural skills which I am sure most people reading this will have enjoyed also. Over the years I visited NY every few months and each time John would invite me to his home rather than have to stay in a hotel, I have been lucky to meet most of John's family and many of his friends too. I went to Taylor's christening and even aloud to be in charge of the video. John was the perfect host and a great man and my best friend, the world is a lesser place with his passing. My memories of you will last forever Love Jim
