John D. McKenna

John Dennis McKenna, Waldwick, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025, at age 83, surrounded by loving family and friends. A fiercely dedicated husband and loving Father, Grandfather, Brother, Son, Cousin, Uncle, Nephew, Brother-in-Law and Friend.

A unique, unusual, and interesting man whose personality and charisma drew people to him. A selfless consigliore to many. A man of incredible and unwavering focus and determination, who overcame arguably insurmountable obstacles to achieve much success in life. He was a humble man who never sought the limelight, yet he gave freely of himself and was always there when you needed him. With John in your corner, you had a friend for life and there was nothing you couldn’t achieve. There was no limit to his support and no boundaries that couldn’t be conquered. He was always ready to go with a smile and a laugh. He truly saw the best in others. He loved his wife's cooking, the Yankees, movie classics, driving, spending quality time with family and friends and the art of busting chops.

He personified Hudson County, tough, loyal, unconventional, practical, proud, and an occasional willingness to bend the rules when necessary.

John is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Stephanie, his son Chris and his wife Jennifer, grandchildren Ryan and Connor, sister Darlene and her companion Joe, aunt Joanie, caring cousin Tommy, dedicated brother-in-law Jim and his wife Bernadette as well as many family members, in laws and friends who loved him.
