John Gerard Morelli

John Gerard Morelli, 80 years old of Jackson, NJ passed away on November 11, 2015. Born in Newark, NJ, John lived in the Township of Washington, NJ for over 10 years before moving to Jackson, NJ 2 years ago. Prior to his retirement, John was an engineer for Ford Motor Corporation. He was a member of the National Model Railroad Association and an avid model railroad collector, member of the RailRats and a member of the Montvale Seniors Bowling League. John loved classic Ford cars, loved to travel and authored a bi-monthly newsletter called the “Jersey Jottings". He was predeceased by his wife, Nancy Morelli in 2003 and his grandson Ryan James Cameron in 2012. He is survived by his daughters, Dawne Gergits and her husband Karl and Lynn Cameron; his granddaughter, Marissa Gergits; his cousins, Angel and Joe Colello; and his first wife, Audrey Morelli and extended loving family and friends. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday 3-7pm at the Becker Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday 11am at St. Lucy’s Church, Newark, NJ. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, N. Arlington, NJ.
