John Lawrence Tiscornia

John Lawrence Tiscornia passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025 at Harmony Village in Westwood, NJ. Born on March 26, 1940 John lived a truly fulfilled life of 85 years, raising his four boys in River Vale, NJ with his cherished wife Arlene.

Raised in Tenafly, NJ as the oldest of 6 siblings, John attended St. Cecilia High School before graduating from Fairfield University in 1961. John spent the next 2 years in the US Army before having a successful career in textiles for 40 years.

John enjoyed his retirement over the next 25 years as an avid golfer, affectionately known as “Fast John” for his pace of play and then as he got older “Short John” as his shots didn’t go as far as they used to. John played golf almost daily with his favorite golf buddies as well as his sons before heading to work at the local golf course to stay busy and be around the sport he loved.

Loved by all who encountered him for his quick humor, care for what everyone was up to in their lives and always providing friendly words of advice and encouragement to everyone he met. When you met JT, you never forgot him.

John is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Arlene Tiscornia, his four sons who were everything to him, Ken, Mark, Larry and Matt Tiscornia. His 3 adored daughter-in-laws Rita, Allison and Alani, his 7 amazing grandchildren who loved him dearly Ava, Sam, Ben, Ella, Kady, Oakley and Macsen, his 3 brothers, Tom, Ed and Michael and 2 sisters Mary and Judith.

The family will receive friends and family on Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 10:00am to 1:30pm at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood NJ, followed by a Mass celebrating John’s life at 2:00pm at St. Pius X Church, 268 Old Tappan Rd, 07675.
