

Lawrence “Larry” Edward Bauer, 85 years old, of the Township of Washington passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on November 21, 2014. Born in New York City, NY, he resided in Ridgefield Park before moving to the Township of Washington 45 + years ago. Larry proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a long time communicant of St. Andrew’s Church in Westwood and was a member of the River Vale Seniors Group. Larry retired as a heating and air-conditioning technician for the NJ/NY Port Authority. Larry is survived by his wife of 62 years, Theresa (Ryan) Bauer; his daughters, Linda San Angelo and her husband Joseph, Gail Stamatopoulos and her husband Robert and Maryann Trimm and her husband Mitchell; his sister, Peggy Gundlah; his grandchildren, Jennifer Dickson and her husband Wayne, Heather Smith and her husband William, Melissa Hernandez and her husband Alfonso, Ashley Dino and her husband Peter, Brian Schaab, Matthew Stematopoulos and his wife Pascale, Meghan Stamatopoulos and her wife Tara Abbondante, Melanie Stamatopoulos, Shannon Trimm and Alyssa Trimm ; and his 7 great grandchildren, Sarah, Samantha, Aiden, Ryan, Liam, Addison and Ethan. Larry is also survived by his loving extended family of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and many cousins. Larry was predeceased by his aunt and uncle who raised him Fred and Nellie Bauer, his sister, Helen Habermann and his brothers, George Appleyard and William Heffernan. Funeral from the Becker Funeral Home on Tuesday 9:30am with a 10:30am funeral mass at St. Andrew’s Church, Westwood. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories, Twp. of Washington. Visiting hours will be on Monday 2-4 & 7-9pm at the funeral home.
