HANNIGAN, Lawrence J., 71. Larry Hannigan of Downingtown, PA (formerly of Hillsdale, NJ) passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of 46 years Rosemary (nee Mainella). Devoted father of James (Rosalie), Mary- Ellen Allen (Christopher); and Michael (Sindia). Dear brother of Donald and William Hannigan, (predeceased by his sisters Susan and Miriam). Loving grandfather of Katelin, Nicholas, Alexis, Emily and Viola.

Born in Manhattan, Larry grew up in Queens, NY. He and his family lived in Hillsdale for more than 35 years before retiring to Pennsylvania in 2012. He was an active parishioner of St. John the Baptist RC Church, Hillsdale where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. Lawrence worked for the New York Blood Center, New York City, NY for 23 years, and served multiple years as the company’s CFO.

In retirement, Larry enjoyed traveling, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities, volunteering at the local food bank and reading on his front porch.

Visitation at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, on Sunday 3-6 pm. A funeral mass will be served at St. John the Baptist RC Church on Monday at 10:00 am, followed by the burial at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ALS Association, www.alsa.org.
