

Leticia "Letty" Ricafrente Lawler, beloved wife and mother, passed away from heart disease on November 25, 2017 in New Jersey. She was 81. Letty was born in the Philippines on November 27, 1936, the daughter of Nieves Zenarosa Galicia and Victor Albis Ricafrente. She graduated with a pharmacy degree from the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines. She moved to the United States in 1968, and worked as a lab technician in the Chemistry Department in Mount Sinai Hospital in New York for forty years.
In 1971, Letty married John Lawler in Manhattan, New York. They moved to Closter, New Jersey and became members of St. Mary's Catholic Parish. Together, Letty and John raised their two children, James and Karen. Letty valued spending time with family. Despite everyone's busy schedule, she successfully remained close with her children by prioritizing weekly "family brunch." Letty also enjoyed spending time with her six siblings and extended family. Ham was everyone's favorite dish that she brought to family gatherings. Letty is survived by her husband John, son James, and daughter Karen and son-in-law, Isaac. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.
There will be a funeral mass in St . Mary's Parish, Closter NJ on Thursday, November 30, at 10:00am, followed by a private graveside service for family members at the Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ. Viewing will be held at Becker Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 29, from 6pm to 9pm in Westwood, NJ.
