Lydia Ann Heck, 60, of Ringwood, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 3rd, surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of the late John Heck. Devoted mother of John and Patty, Michele, and James and Reilly. Dear sister of Ted, Billy, Joyce, and Julie. Loving grandmother of Johnny, Callista, Eddie, Kira, Joshua, and Colin. Dearest daughter to Elaine and William Carey and daughter-in-law to Melba and Herb Heck.
Lydia was born in Queens, NY and moved with her family to Old Tappan NJ in her teens. She met her future husband and was married in 1981. She moved to Harrington Park in 1984, a young wife and mother of two, and three years later added a third child to her story. She loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor. Over the years, Lydia has selflessly raised a family, making sure each of her children were able to follow their dreams and live life to the fullest. She supported everyone through all of life's challenges, often not taking the time to think about herself. She worked a full time job for many years as a secretary with Norwolf Tool company. She loved to listen to music and would often be seen accompanying her kids to Dead shows. The world lost an angel when Lydia was called home to be with her beloved John, but she will forever live on in the hearts and thoughts of every person that knew her.
The family will receive their relatives and friends on Friday, January 7th from 2 PM to 4 PM at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood. A service celebrating Lydia' life and faith will follow at 4 PM at the same location.
During the service, anyone who would like to say a few words about Lydia’s life will be invited to speak.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
