Born in Germany, he came to the United States in 1948. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Golden Seniors of Township of Washington and the Westwood / Township of Washington Art Club. Mr. Rost was a millwright mechanic for Maxwell House Coffee, Hoboken for 35 years and retired in 1987.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Elsie (Hegmann) Rost, his daughters, Sue Rost and Marlyn Vincent, his grandchildren, David, Shaun and Brandon and his great grandchildren, David and Amanda.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, Sept. 26 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamanck Road, Westwood. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
