SOTO, Margorie, 84, of River Vale, NJ, formerly of Westwood, NJ passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018. Devoted mother of Elizabeth Conrad and her husband John, and Joseph Jr. and his wife Kim. Loving grandmother of Brittany, Paige, Kevin, Tyler, Joseph, Ryan, and Matthew. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph. Margorie was born in Bronx, NY and moved with her family to Westwood in 1969. She was a passionate advocate for her family, dedicating her life to being a wife and mother. She later found great joy working with children at the Dr. David Goldberg Childcare Center in Westwood. She was known for her generosity and always having an open and welcome home. She was a great cook and loved feeding her family, friends, and anyone who happened to stop by. She was a fan of the NY Yankees and stuck by her team, no matter how good or bad their season was. Nothing was more important to her than her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and taking part in their successes and accomplishments. Family dinners and holidays were always a special time that she cherished. She was well known for her outgoing, lively, and vivacious personality. She was often referred to as the “life of the party” and wouldn’t hesitate to pull people, sometimes unknown to her, out on the dance floor. She loved to dance, sing, and provide entertainment to others. In her later years she became part of a local group of entertainers known as the “Sassy Girls”. They would go to local nursing homes and senior centers to dance and sing for the residents. She also found great joy and became quite proficient at line dancing and wouldn’t hesitate to demonstrate her skills at every given opportunity. If she had the opportunity to get a ride on a motorcycle or ATV, she would not hesitate to do it. She had a very strong personality and was known for her toughness and determination. This was no better demonstrated than in the courageous battle that she fought for over two years. She truly believed in the power of prayer and the will to live. She lived her life with dignity and laid the groundwork for her children and grandchildren to follow. The family will receive guests at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Rd., Westwood, NJ on Monday, October 22 from 3-8PM. A Mass celebrating Margorie's life and faith will be held at St. Peter The Apostle R.C. Church in River Edge, NJ on Tuesday, October 23 at 9:30AM with cremation to follow.
