It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Nicola Gasparro, born July 21, 1940 and peacefully left us on May 27, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Sannicandro di Bari, Italy to Pasquale Gasparro and Michelina Gasparro (nee Albanese) both deceased. He left behind a significant soccer career and emigrated to the United States in 1960 to pursue the American Dream. He worked tirelessly, along with his father and younger brother to reunite with his mother and four younger siblings here in the United States. His marriage to his beloved wife Yolanda Gasparro (nee Kalebic) lasted nearly fifty four wonderful years filled with love, laughter, dancing and cherished memories. He was a dedicated father and father-in-law to his three children and their spouses Michele Gasparro and Nelson Gomes; Stefania Gasparro and Bryan Nazor; and Nickolas Gasparro and Ana Gasparro always supporting them in their pursuits and instilling in them a strong sense of values. His grandchildren: Giancarlo, Massimo and Antonio Gomes; Marco, Luca and Alessandra Nazor; Michael and Isabel Kline and Nickolas Gasparro, Jr., brought him immeasurable joy and happiness. He leaves behind five siblings, Vito Gasparro; Antonio Gasparro; Chiara Migliaccio; Carmella Schwarz and Rita Gasparro. He will be sorely missed by eleven nieces and nephews as well as nine great nieces and nephews. He was an entrepreneur who dedicated himself effortlessly to each endeavor he undertook. “Nino” was known for his kind hearted nature, unwavering integrity and remarkable work ethic. His friends and family admired his patients, wisdom and ability to find solutions even in a challenging situation. He greatly enjoyed keeping his mind sharp by reading a large scope of material ranging from American History to Greek Mythology. He applied the same philosophy to his physical health and well- being, playing soccer until the age of 73. As a loving husband, father and grandfather, Nino’s family was the center of his world. We will forever treasure the memories of his continuous presence at family gatherings and milestones. Nothing made him happier then family, all things Italian, soccer and his summer trips to Florida with his family. His legacy of kindness, dedication and passion will continue to inspire us all.
