Robert W. Knaack, Jr.

Robert was born August 21, 1942 in Jersey City, NJ to Robert Knaack and Francis Gillen. He married his Dumont High School sweetheart Marie (nee Masucci) April 12, 1964.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marie, his beloved children: Christine (Michael) Neglia of Norwood, Robert (Christine) Knaack of Norwood and Marie Victoria (John) Urban of Westwood. He was the proud grandfather of Christina, Marissa, Katherine, Robert, Joseph, Susanne, Elizabeth and Mary. He is also survived by his two loving sisters Johanna (William) Cusick of Toms River and Christine Knaack (William Van Der Vort) of Little Egg Harbor, NJ and dear brother Richard Knaack of Arizona; and many beloved niece and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; nephew Walter Jurgensen and niece Jennifer (Oleske) Coffey.

Known by so many as “Tire Bob,” Robert was an Owner/Operator of Robbins & Franke in Cliffside Park, NJ for more than 60 years. His work ethic was paramount to his life because he believed work was the stepping stone to everything else in his life. He and Marie enjoyed many adventures to places near and far over the years through the Hercules Tire Conventions. He was a proud former Varsity Dumont Huskies football player. After high school, he attended East Carolina College in North Carolina.

His personality was larger than life, lighting up the room with his humor and animated storytelling. He will surely be missed by so many people, family and friends for whom he made a profound impact. Changing many lives in a positive way.

Robert truly found peace spending time in his favorite place--Long Lake, NY. His family will be forever grateful for sharing his lifetime love of the Adirondack’s with them.
