NAME:
Robert C. Morris, a.k.a. Bob, Bobby, Brother Bob, Hon Bun, Gentle Giant, Uncle Bob, and The Sweetest Guy on Earth.
But you can just call me Handsome Bob.

OBJECTIVE:
To bring the skills I have acquired throughout my life on earth to a position which requires the full utilization of my heart and soul.  Willing to relocate.

PREFERRED POSITION:
Angel.  Willing to chauffeur God in my 55 Chevy.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Optimistic-I always look on the bright side of things.  Even in the face of life's greatest challenges I will tell you, "Everything is good!  I'm fine!"

Caring-I will always make sure you have something good to eat, and I will probably introduce you to a cheese you've never had before, and tell you why you shouldn't eat tilapia.  I will carve your turkey, make you a sandwich that tastes like a slice of Heaven, and I will clean the kitchen as I go!

Helpful-I will lend a helping hand whenever you need one.  If I can't fix what is broken, I will resort to duct tape, which I have a large supply of in assorted colors as well as traditional silver.

Loving-I love my wife Loretta, whom I have known for 37 years, who taught me that love is not about the grand gestures but is found in the crannies and crevices of a relationship, in the everyday kindnesses, the thank-you's, I'm sorry's, the shared laughter, and putting up with each other's quirks--not that I have any!  I love my parents whose 74 year marriage is an inspiration,  They gave me the gift of six brothers and two sisters, who taught me to share, to be tough, and to be tolerant.  I also learned that I could get away with murder because my two sisters would always protect me!  I love my mother-in-law, Mary, who has always stood by my side.

EXPERIENCE:
CHEF-As a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, I can cook up a storm.  With my extensive catering background, I am able to serve a banquet fit for a choir of angels.

FISHERMAN:  I have the patience of a saint when it comes to casting my line in the ocean over and over and over and over again to hook a whopper at the Manasquan Inlet.

JUGGLER:  Whatever life throws at me, I can juggle it:  knives, apples, water balloons, problems, challenges, struggles.  I juggle it all with grace and aplomb.

COMEDIAN:  My laugh is unforgettable and my Bobisms are famous and sure to entertain everyone in Heaven. Here are a few:  Holy Hoboken!  You're a knuckle noodle! Who's going to the Arcade, meet me at Wizard of Oz! Want some stinky, smelly, funky cheese?  Bring your bootaloonies, it's cold outside! That's heavy duty, Rudy!  Can I make you an egg McSmingly?  Would you like moo-moo or ju-ju with that? Where are the onions? I've got my onion goggles with me!

I am proud of my Brother Bob.  He worked hard his whole life.  Loved his wife, his family, his Chevy, and making people laugh.  While the order may be disputable, the success he had in these endeavors is not.  Uncomplicated by the trivial, Bob was able to concentrate on the important.  If we close our eyes, we can still picture him arriving at family events, adorned in his down vest, Chuck Taylors, knives and cooking utensils in hand, making his way to help in the kitchen singing his interpretation of the classic carol, Sleigh Ride, "You're a ding ding ding aling."

The kitchen was part of Bob's life.  Working his way from a teenage dishwasher to speaking at his commencement at the Culinary Institute of America, we all knew Bob loved food and loved to cook.  I think that just as a chef reduces many ingredients into the most savory, concentrated elements, Bob was able to do the same with his life.  He appreciated the simple, the classic, like his beloved '55 Chevy--Nothing fake, nothing pretentious, no gimmicks--just genuine.

While the word genuine might not be the perfect lead in to comment on my brother's illustrious and yes maybe even fabled skills as an accomplished angler, I promise you it was his only compromise with the meaning of integrity.  Bob would often visit us on his many trips down the shore to enjoy some time on the water--more often than not resulting in a call for takeout food later in the day.  His visits would always excite his nephew and niece to show off a new toy or bike and make any of our pet Labradors go bananas as Uncle Bob would relate to the situation as only Uncle Bob could.  It wasn't unusual to get a Christmas card addressed to our loyal lab from Bob.

While my oldest brother Ed's golf game is on par with Bob's fish stories, Peter sings along to the '50's tunes, Loretta is everybody's big sister, Julie writes poetry that doesn't rhyme, John is the Troubador, Brother Bob's departure...while he joins his brothers Ken and Chris in heaven, leaves a hole in our family.  Bob grounded us all in what is important.  Kindness.  A kinder heart there will never be.  I wish I could be more like my Brother Bob.

Bob was larger than life. His presence brought love, laughter, and smiles wherever he went.  He will always be remembered for his "bobisms," his converse sneakers, his fishing stories, his '55 Chevy, his ability to juggle just about anything, his carving knives, and his wonderful and thoughtful Christmas presents.  While growing up, the family had him convinced that the Memorial Day Parade in Wyckoff was in honor of his birthday. His wife, Loretta, was the love of his life.  Bob will be sorely missed by his family and friends, but certainly never forgotten.

With a heavy heart I attended the services for Bob tonight in Westwood. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Morris family, Loretta and all of Bob's Loved ones. I was a High School friend of Bob's from Ramapo (Franklin Lakes, NJ) Class of 1977. Our friendship grew tight when we worked together at The Cedar Hill Inn (Wyckoff). We had many great memories including a drive (in his Plymouth Cricket) from NJ to the Keys in Florida for a camping trip. I will always be grateful to Bob and his predeceased brother Chris for introducing me to the band Genesis in 1975. Many thanks to Bob's parents for being so kind and patient when "allowing" us to use the expansive basement as if it were our own apartment. Bob loved cooking and juggling and we entertained many people at "parties" in North Jersey. Too many memories to share, so I leave you with, "You departed this life too soon Robert." May you Rest In Peace. Always, Your Buddy

My thoughts and prayers are with Bob and his family. Bob and I were High School classmates. I am so sorry to hear this tragic news. Bob was a dear, sweet kind man. I am sending my heartfelt condolences.

My thoughts and prayers to all family and Loved ones. From 1974 - 1977 I went to Ramapo H.S. with Bob (Robert) - spent many years as his good friend while working together at the Cedar Hill Inn in Wyckoff - he loved cooking! We travelled together (in his Plymouth Cricket) to the Keys in Florida and performed juggling acts at "parties" in North Jersey. I saw Bob in March of this year as cancer grabbed hold of him and spoke just recently with him as his spirit never failed. I will always be grateful to Bob and his pre-deceased brother Chris for introducing me to the band Genesis. I'll never forget meeting his then girlfriend Loretta for the first time and discovering her last name was "Morris." Bob had a large and wonderful family who "allowed" us to use their expansive basement in Wyckoff as our own private apartment. I have too many memories to share here - so with sadness, I'll say "Good-Bye" to my friend and Rest In Peace, "Brother Bob."  You will be missed!

Bob was such a lovely man with a gentle and loving disposition. He was the beloved husband of my dear cousin, Loretta. She loved him so much! He was the master carving expert at our annual Thanksgiving dinner. He insisted on sitting at the kids table where he played games with the children and entertained them, always making them laugh. He will be missed!! God bless him.
