Salvatrice (Sally) Messina, 89, formerly of Riverdale, New Jersey and Winter Park, Florida, died Friday evening, September 30, 2011 at Hospice of New Jersey in Wayne, NJ. Salvatrice was born in Italy 1922 and came to the United States at the age of 3, residing in New York, NY. She was a professional seamstress and her hobbies were cooking, sewing, reading and spending time with her family. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Mariano Messina and is survived by her children Joan Messina of Little Falls, NJ and Peter Messina with his wife Kathy of Pasadena, CA; grandchildren Laurie Leider with husband Tom, Kenneth Kaleta with wife Jennifer, Monica Hollenbeck with husband Rob, and Marissa Messina; great grandchildren Ryan Kaleta, Marian and Vivian Hollenbeck. She is also survived by beloved godchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral mass was said at The Parish of Sacred Heart with burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Mt. Holly, NJ. Donations in her memory may be made to the National Osteoporosis Foundation or Hospice of New Jersey.
