Laura, I'm so sorry to just learn of Val's passing. I was his secretary at Fisher Scientific (mid-late 80's).  He was a wonderful person to work for. I remember when Christina was born and now she's married. I'm sorry for your loss.

My Uncle Val left behind a legacy of kindness, thoughtfulness, tender-hearted care and compassion, fun, and, love. He welcomed me into his home when I made myself destitute, and gave me work when I had none. When my sister, Lauren and I were little, he took us with him to cut down a fresh Christmas tree; I remember watching him drag it out of the snowy forest. The memory is like a hallmark card. He took us to six flags great adventure, to see animatronic dinosaurs, and we have many other fun memories shared with him. Sometimes, if he saw hurt on someone, he would comfort them by putting his hand on their shoulder and giving a warm, comforting smile. I am finding it hard to belive he is gone. Death is a terrible enemy. I am reminded of how fragile we are, and how short our time here really is. Thanks be to God that this short lifetime isn't all that there is. Death is an enemy, but we have the promise of Jesus Christ The Lord that death will be swallowed up in victory. 

Jesus Christ, truly God, truly man lived the perfect sinless life we could never live. He is our perfection and our righteousness, He fulfilled all The Law and yet died on the cross to pay for our sins. He rose from the dead, defeating death. 

We need to repent of our sins, and entrust our lives to Jesus Christ The Lord, and He will forgive all of our sins. He will save us and make us new in Him. 

We will then pass from death to Life and the promise will be fulfilled: 

“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die..." from John 11:25-26

So sorry for your loss.
 Val  was one of my favorite people at Pfizer. A beacon of positivity and passionate about all things innovation…..alway had a big smile and the first to greet people - he will be sadly missed.

Your love for family and your gentle way about you are just a couple of your most endearing qualities. Our hearts are broken and I will continue to keep your family in my prayers.  Our families have been connected for over 50 years, so I have a few separate memories of  Uncle Val even before I married David. There is one I will never forget that I would like to share, it was when Thomas Wasik got married and both myself and Rita were in the bridal party. Right before the limousine pulled away, Uncle Val put his hand on my shoulder and very calmly said, "Look after my little girl," and of course it was Rita. I will always look after your little girl, and all your girls, and I will forever keep those words that you asked upon me so long ago in my heart.  You  brought light in dark places. You were the epitome of living your life true to God, by being kind, and accepting of all, and full of life and love. You were a role model for so many, including my husband, David. You were always teaching and never in a condescending way, but more to just make people better by helping them understand. And you did make people better people, and the world a better place.  We will continue to live our lives with the question, What would Uncle Val do?, and hope we can lead with your memory in our hearts. 

When we lose somebody, we all tend to speak of all the wonderful things that person did, or how special they were.  Usually these are platitudes we feel compelled to share.  That is not the case with my Uncle Val.  This was truly a special man, person, soul.   Besides my own father, there is no other man that has shaped me as a person.  Uncle Val just treated everyone with kindness no matter who they were.  He saw the best in everyone, and never lost an opportunity to be teaching, whether that was explaining how something worked, or giving an example of how to live life.  He was brilliant without arrogance, and always giving to others without seeking reciprocation.  

There are so many things that I do in my life, from my interactions to strangers, to the way I show love to my wife, children and family that I learned from this man, my Godfather and mentor.

A few sentences on a webpage does no justice.  Only those touched by his life can appreciate the magnitude of this loss for all of us blessed by knowing him.  

 I have too many memories to write with only 2000 characters.  My earliest and fondest are being in Brooklyn at Nannys house, probably 3-4 years old, he would let me climb up him from his feet to his shoulders, over and over again 

I will miss hearing his voice and relying on his counsel.

Uncle Val,

When I heard what happened, I couldn’t believe it. I still can’t believe it. 

Looking back, I could only think of good memories we’ve shared. I remember playing in the pool, shooting water from our hands, wearing ugly sweaters on Christmas Eve, getting hot dogs with sauerkraut at the Yankee game, and working on projects around your house. I’m happy Colton had the opportunity to see you do Shamu. 

You were a gentle giant, a selfless soul who thought only of others. You are always in my heart, and I’ll miss you forever.

I first met Val when he started working at Harwood Pharmacy in the early 70's. I quickly became friends with him & his twin brother Victor.  We had great and fun years together there. Since I met my wife at Harwood Pharmacy,  I discussed with my wife if we could get her sister and  Val together for another Harwood Pharmacy connection. It worked and they later got married.  Val was now part of my family too.  During these 50+ years together we shared many good times. I remember all the help I received from Val around my house all for a nominal fee of baked ziti.   It was always great to be around Val as we shared memories together.  He is my brother and as he loved me as I love him.  As I write this I have tears in my eyes because I miss him a lot.  Since Val was such a great person, I 'm sure he is making great arrangements for me when we meet again up there. 

What can I say about our beloved  Val?  In the more than 50 years that I was lucky enough to know him, I can't think of one thing that I didn't like about him.  Always the first with  a kind word , a smile , a helping hand.  Always a gentleman and a gentle man.  We spent many happy days or troubled times together, and he always knew how to make happy times happier or take the sting out of a trouble or sorrow.  I will always love him, always miss him.  The hole in our hearts will never be filled. Val, I hope you heard me sing you on your way to heaven. I will always love you my friend and brother.

Dear Val:

I always looked up to you like a big brother, since when you first came into the family.  I watched you build things in my mothers house, and fix things. I was always there to help you, I learned alot from you, I even remember watching you light off fireworks as they flew into the neighbors house. I always respected  you and was in awe of your superior intelligence. I remember when you and Laura took me and Fran to the laser rock concert at the Planetarium in the city and will never forget the weekends watching Saturday nite live with you. We always had a lot of laughs together, I will forever miss you and never forget you. I will always admire what a great human being that you were.

Uncle Val, you were always so kind to me and always made me feel loved whenever I was around you, I will always remember all the laughs we shared at family parties, and the conversations that me and you had, I always wanted to listen closely when you spoke to me, because I knew what you would tell me would be wise and would be helpful to me in life some way or another. I was always so fascinated about how much you traveled the world, and all the stories you shared about your experiences in different places. There truly are no words to express the loss that we feel for Uncle Val. I will always remember him as such a loving and caring sweet Uncle. Even though I moved away every time I visited he always had a smile  on his face and gave the best hugs. Knowing that he is in the arms of the angels now and may have left this earth… he will be waiting to greet his family. It is never goodbye… it is see you soon. 

Dear beautiful sister Laura and lovely neices Christina, Rita and Julie..a novel of love laughter and joy would need to be penned in expression of how our families feel for each other and our precious Val.   His heart was big enough to fit all of us in it along with the many, many friends and people whose lives he managed to touch...he gave, shared and loved. 
We will always cherish every word, thought and time we shared together.   He will be forever loved and never forgotten.  

What can I say, my heart is broken. These past few days I keep hearing all of these things I know, and everyone knows about my uncle already; How good of a man he is, how he would do anything for anyone, and how the room would light up when he walked in. But, I want to tell you some things from my heart. Some things you might not know about him. When I was young, and before Christina, Rita, and Julianna were born, my family, aunt Laura and uncle Val used to go on vacation together, to the Cara Mara in Wildwood NJ. When we would go swimming in the pool, uncle Val would let me wrap my arms around his neck, he would dive into the deep end, and we would touch the drain. I would make him do that all day long, and knowing how much I enjoyed it, he would do it without thinking twice. One other time we were in Wildwood, something very bad happened, in which he then turned into something so beautiful. One night we went on the boardwalk to go on the rides. Uncle Val and I both went on this big, wooden rollercoaster, where we sat in the same seat together. Minutes into that ride, the seat began to break apart from underneath me.. I was scared, and started screaming. Without hesitation, he pulled me close to him, held me tight, looked at me, and just smiled. He said, "Don't worry, I got you, I will not let you go." He continued to smile and laugh. Knowing how scared he must've been with my life in his hands, I still knew, the only thing he was worried about doing, was making sure that I felt safe. Throughout my whole life, any time I'd see him, I'd see that same smile that calmed me that day. Before I go I'll leave you with something uncle Val used to say to me whenever I came to him needing help with a problem, big or small. "Oh don't worry, that's very simple." Whenever I heard those words, I knew that whatever problem I had, was soon to be solved! I love you with all my heart, uncle Val. Love, your nephew, Thomas.

Uncle Val was truly one of a kind! The love and compassion he had for his family was like no other.  I have so many great memories with you growing up from going to six flags, the swim club, the Halloween parties in the Bergenfield house, and so so many more! Thank you for being an amazing uncle to me and my children we will never forget the scary movie nights, the martini nights, and playing bingo with you! I will love and miss you forever!

Uncle Val thank you for being in my life. For taking me in with open arms and an even more open heart. I will forever love you and remember our talks and the memories we made.

We are all so lucky and blessed to have had the honor of knowing such a special person. Thank you for making our lives that much fuller and whole.

Uncle Val you were always with a smile and always a calming presence. You were genuinely interested in everyone’s life and always made me feel special and heard when I spoke to you. I always remember you being there to help. Whether it was finishing cabinets, a brick wall, or just genuinely loving our family.  You are truly a good man and I was so impressed to read how people you worked with not only respected your intelligence but genuinely cared for you as well. The world really suffered a loss at your passing. 

Dearest Uncle Val- You are truly the best and one of a kind. Love you so very much and that will always be the same. Thank you for being always a guiding and shining light in my life. You will forever be missed and in our hearts. We got that fire pit churning uncle Val! We felt (feel) your love around us today and thank you because you brought us some extra peace during our heartbreak.  Love you forever. 

Not only was Uncle Val one of the funniest uncles but he was someone who I looked up to, admired, and always brought a smile to my face. I remember in cape may we built one of the biggest sand castles together. Whenever the water came and broke it uncle Val would never give up and that’s the person he was. I love you uncle Val.  Rest In Peace.

I told my beautiful Aunt Laura & my beautiful cousins this the other night:
Picture Uncle Val in Germany or one of the countries he use to go to for work; he just finished his phone call to you all and he heads out to a local pub somewhere trying a new beer and some new food, he sits down and tells complete strangers about his beautiful family and the proud work he was doing in their country. He asks about their life and is suddenly as fascinated with them as they are with him. 
My Uncle was never alone because of all the love he left behind when he was gone. He touched the lives of everyone he came in contact with making complete strangers and everyone feel important no matter who they were and what they did.
He made the world a better place and continues to make me a better man. 
I will miss him and never forget the lessons he taught me. 
My wish for everyone is to love the world and everyone in it like he loved!

Words cannot describe. 
I can’t even begin to process words to fulfill the description of the man you were to us all. 
Only the good die young, and it continues to stand true.

My brother in law no my brother I had the gift of your love since I was 6 years old. I remember the first time my sister brought you home to meet her younger siblings and we were hiding under the dining room table and starting pulling at your legs and giggling. I have so many happy memories starting with my childhood to my adulthood. Our game nights the special drinks you made us the laughs the comfort you provided when I needed it the most. Our company CE&IC is an  Engineering consultant to Pfizer for many years.  I had the great opportunity to work with Val on many Pfizer projects.  Literally and without question, he was my favorite client.  Engaging, sincere, and extremely bright, we had a lot of great conversations.

Two  memories I have:

 1 - Val brought in a picture from his daughter Christina when she was very young.  It was a bunch of lines, arrows, and boxes.  He posted it up on his wall  proudly exclaiming "Look, Christina has just created her own P&ID! I think we can use it!! (a P&ID is a complex chemical engineering type of flow diagram, a key drawing to any process).  From that, I figured I had to redo my drawing.

2.  Regarding his humility - on a complex project I was working on with another Pfizer engineer (John Sheridan) - he would never force his opinion - stating "3 heads are better than one" - I went hysterical over that line (and use it quite a bit).

I am so saddened and shocked by this.  I can definitely see how he was a key in the Pfizer Covid 19 vaccine effort.

My deepest condolences to Valentin's family.  
I met Val over 25 years ago, and have really enjoyed working with Val ever since.  Val was a true expert, an engineer, an innovator, a coach, and a brilliant person.   May He Rest in Peace.

Val was a beautiful person, kind and generous with his time, who always made you feel welcome and accepted. With his bright smile and charismatic personality, Val was a innovator at heart, always looking for ways to make things better. I am grateful for the opportunities I had to work with Val over the years as an innovation coach at Pfizer, but what I treasure the most are the times spent just talking and laughing and sharing stories. Val’s family was the most precious thing to him, and my heart goes out to them and all who loved him.

To Valentin’s family, friends and colleagues. Please accept my heart felt condolences. I had the pleasure to work with Val both as a PGE colleague and recently as a service provider where Val was my client. Val was creative and innovative and he helped deliver millions of doses of life enhancing products to patients all over the world who never knew Val was behind the process. We will all miss his humor, creativity,  kindness, and his positive can do attitude.  Val impacted my life and I know he had a positive impact on others. RIP Val.

I had the privilege of working with Val for 25 years and continue our close friendship for the past 5 years since my retirement. Val was an exceptionally talented engineer with the unique ability to facilitate collaboration among people who had never worked together. He was passionate, enthusiastic and genuinely kind and respectful to everyone he worked with. He generously shared his knowledge with people inside and outside of Pfizer.

I also witnessed the love and kindness within Val’s family when I attended Rita’s confirmation and Christina’s wedding. The family lost a loving husband, father and grandfather. I lost a close friend and I will miss him dearly. May he rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to the family.  I was fortunate to work with Val for 16 years over different projects.  He was the epitomic of  experience, excellence and gentleman. I had the privilege and absolute please to work with Val for 5 short years but learned so much from him not only as an Engineer but as an outstanding human being!  During that time I had the huge honour of organising surprise events to mark two major milestones in his career, the Pfizer Lifetime Engineering Achievement Award and his 30 year anniversary celebration.  For both, the sheer number of people who came forward to celebrate Val’s achievement was staggering, stretching right across the entire Pfizer organization, as well as right around the globe.  His impact in our business was very clear.  His knowledge was impressive, his openness was constant, his energy levels were contagious, and his legacy will influence many generations to come.

It was my privilege to have worked with Val for many years. He was a talented and innovative engineer who the ability to solve very complex engineering challenges. He did with a smile and a very easy going manner.  He was a teacher at heart and I was not surprised to see him take on the challenge of becoming an innovation coach.

I've know Val for over 15 years at Pfizer. He is a big personality and used that to bring people up, never put them down. He always made time for people no matter how busy he was. I worked on many innovation projects with him as both a coach and a participant. The week after finishing innovation boot camp he got me out to my first innovation facilitation. You will be missed my friend!

As the operational VP for Pfizer's US manufacturing site in Kalamazoo, MI, I confirm that Val was  critical to our success to enable and scale vaccine manufacturing.  I've had the privilege of working with Val for 18 years.  I often called on Val to help with engineering challenges that no one else could solve.  Val always delivered.  He was a talented engineer and a gentleman.   He was recently awarded the lifetime Engineering  Achievement Award at Pfizer.  That says it all.  We will miss Val's talent and his positive influence on our organization.  My sincere condolences to his family

My sincerest condolences on your loss.  I had the privilege of working with Val on Pfizer projects around the world for the last 20+ years and he always made it interesting and fun for everyone that was involved. Our family is so sorry to hear of Val’s sudden passing. We’re friends of his and his family for over 35 years. We all get a measured amount of time in this life. For the rest of us, the time we had with Val Tarasenko was entirely too short.  He brought an energy to a room that was positive, directed, and passionate.  Val was the only person I have ever met that could turn a room full of strangers into friends in a half hour.  He taught us all how to focus on the problem, solve it, and enjoy the process.  I was honored to work with him on a really challenging project that could have strained any relationship, however, the outcome was great mutual respect, enjoyment of the process, and satisfaction with the result. The best outcome was an ongoing great friendship. Val always brought a personal warmth to any situation.  His passion for doing good things lifted all around him and made us better people.   All of our days will continue to be brighter having known him.  I will miss my friend as will all of the people that Val touched during his time with us.  

I was saddened to hear of Val’s sudden passing.  My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.  Val was one of the most sincere, passionate, knowledgeable and gentle souls I have ever had the privilege of working with. May the spirit of his memory surround you now and bring you peace. 

Val had a very special talent with people. In his role at Pfizer as a facilitator and coach, he could inspire people to see another view, to think differently and change their position.  One of his favorite  facilitation tools he called “windows of wisdom” which is very fitting, as Val was himself a window to wisdom!

Dearest Family,
I also worked at Pfizer and so enjoyed having lunch (about once a month) with Val and my dear departed friend Valerie Tienken.   Val made us laugh, think and provided positive inspiration for both of us women.  I know if Valerie were still with us, she would be broken-hearted. Valerie wanted only the very best for Val. 

Family, you were so very blessed  to have Val as your husband/best friend, Dad, etc. I’m sure you girls gained so much knowledge, love, strength, as he was so compassionate, kind, strong, and smart. 

My prayers are with all of you at this very difficult time.
