

ROWE, William Henry "Bill", 95, of Old Tappan, NJ, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2014. Born and raised in Dodgeville, WI in 1919. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in mechanical engineering; then went on to the US Naval Academy for Post Graduate School. He served his country proudly as Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy during WWII and ultimately retired as a Captain in the US Navy Reserve.William went on to work for Burns and Roe, Inc. where he worked as an engineer up until his retirement. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He was a member of the Trinity Reformed Church in Old Tappan where he served as an elder. William was very active in Old Tappan where he served as a councilman and a member of the Planning Board. He was also a very active member, and one of the founders of Activities Unlimited, a retirement group for men in Haworth, NJ. He loved to travel, read, garden, and play golf and bridge. William is predeceased by his first wife Mary Culver Rowe and step-son John Gollnast. Beloved husband of Ginny Rowe; loving father of William Rowe, Nancy Rowe, Jim Rowe and his wife Mary, and Linda Frank and her husband Paul; cherished step-father of Lynn Sieka and her husband Ron; dear step-grandfather of Timothy Sieka and his wife Colleen, and Allyson Mulholland and her husband Justin; and step-great grandfather of Madelyn, Harper, and Rory Mulholland. A memorial Service will be held Sunday, October 19 at 1 PM at the Trinity Reformed Church, Old Tappan Rd., Old Tappan, NJ. In memory of Bill, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
