Leo DiLeone, 83, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of Enrichetta (DiBenedetto) DiLeone, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 23, 2019 with his loving family by his side. Leo was born in Saracena, province of Cosenza, Italy on February 26, 1936, he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Filomena (Madrigrano) DiLeone.
At the age of 19, Leo proudly enlisted and served in the Italian Navy. He moved to the United States in 1961, settling in Hartford. Leo became a licensed appliance technician, he owned and operated DiLeone Service until his retirement in 1995. Among his family and friends he was well known for being able to fix almost anything. A devoted Catholic, Leo was faithful parishioner of the Church of the Incarnation for many years. He and his wife enjoyed attending Italian dinner dances where they enjoyed wonderful evenings with friends. Leo especially cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren, he was delighted to share the Italian culture with them while enjoying a delicious homemade meal.
A devoted husband, father and Nonno, Leo will be dearly missed by Enrichetta, his wife of 58 years, his son, Vincent DiLeone and his wife Christine of South Windsor, his daughter, Phyllis DiFiore and her husband Nick of Wethersfield. He will especially be missed by his grandchildren, Anthony DiLeone and his wife Alexis, Nicholas DiFiore, Alyssa DiFiore and Jeffrey DiLeone. In addition he leaves his brother, Nicola DiLeone and his wife Sena, his sister Rosaria DiLeone and his sister-in-law Maria DiBenedetto all of Saracena, Italy. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends.
Leo’s family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Joel Silver and his staff, as well as the St. Francis Hospital staff on 8-1 for their compassionate care and kindness. A special thanks is extended to Father James Moran for his spiritual guidance and support during this difficult time.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, August 26th from 4-7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 27th at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church.
