Antonio “Tony” Cappellucci, 94, of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 8, 2024 surrounded by his loving family and is now happily reunited with his beloved wife of 68 years, Lucia “Lucy” (DeNovellis) Cappellucci, who passed away just four days before him. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed gardening and making homemade wine. He was also a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees. Lucy and Tony were both members of the Mt. Carmel-St. Cristina Society and loved dancing. Tony was happiest when spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Tony will be forever missed by his three children, Wayne Cappellucci of Wethersfield, Terry Antonucci and husband Phil of Wethersfield and Rob Cappellucci and wife Tracey of Old Lyme. He was a proud “Papa” to his eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, who loved him and will miss him always. He is also survived by his sister, Lucia Sanelli of Toronto, Canada and many dear nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was predeceased by his brother, Giovanni three sisters, Derna, Ida and Adua.
