Assunta Fabi

On Wednesday, January 12, 2022 Assunta (Ramunno) Fabi, beloved wife of the late Gioventino Fabi, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Assunta was born on August 15, 1927 in Pratola Peligna, Province of L'Aquila, Italy and was the daughter of the late Emilia (Mondazzi) and Giovanni Ramunno. Assunta immigrated to the United States in 1967 with her children, making their home in Hartford, CT.

Assunta was a talented seamstress and worked at a local dress shop in Hartford. She later worked for Hartford Hospital, as a dietary aid for many years. Assunta was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, happiest when she was surrounded by her family. She loved making cookies for every occasion, crocheting sweaters and blankets for her grandchildren, friends and local charities.

Assunta is survived by her son, Vincent Fabi; her daughter Anna and son-in-law Mario Pitruzzello, her beloved grandchildren and their spouses; Vincent and Tonya Fabi, Solidea Pitruzzello, Jacqueline (Fabi) and Nicholas Liebler, Elizabeth and Jonathan Tessitore, John Fabi, Emilia Fabi and Megan Fabi, her cherished great-grandchildren Sabrinna, Stella, Sienna, Jacob, Sofia and Lola, her beloved dog Willow and many extended family and friends.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at from 9 to 10 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield, CT 06109. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 at Annunciation Parish at St. Mary’s Church, 626 Willard Avenue, Newington. Entombment to take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
