Beatriz Rosa (de Jesus) Vicente

Beatriz Rosa (de Jesus) Vicente, 84, of West Hartford, beloved wife for 61 years of Joaquim R. Vicente passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 16, 2017. Beatriz was born on June 11, 1932 in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal and was the daughter of the late Jose Leonardo and Luciana Rosa. Prior to her retirement Beatriz was employed for over 30 years in the Environmental Services Department at Mt. Siani Hospital in Hartford. In her younger years she and her husband enjoyed folk dancing. Beatriz loved to crochet, creating beautiful doilies that she shared with family and friends. She and her husband truly enjoyed spending time with her son and daughter in law, always finding something fun and creative to do. Beatriz was truly a devoted wife and mother. In addition to her husband, Beatriz leaves her son Joaquim J. Ribeiro and his wife Andreina of Rocky Hill and a brother Fernando Leonardo of Boca Raton, FL. She also leaves several nieces and nephews, especially her niece Laurinda Rodrigues of Newington. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Jose Leonardo and her sister Maria R. Lopes. The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Hartford Hospital Bliss 10 ICU for their kindness and compassion. Funeral services will leave Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 10 a.m. from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Kane Street, West Hartford. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 453 Fairfield Avenue, Hartford. Her family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral chapel from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday prior to leaving for the church.
