

Benny Ingenito, 56, of Columbia and formerly of Wethersfield, loving husband for 36 years of Rosa (Scalise) Ingenito, died suddenly Wednesday (March 18, 2009). He was born February 2, 1953 in Sarno, province of Salerno, Italy and is the son of Raffaela (Simonetti) Ingenito of Wethersfield and the late Mattia Ingenito. Benny was formerly employed by the MDC for over 16 years and later worked for Ryder Trucking Company. He loved his most recent job with JHA Land Management, LLC in Franklin. He was a member of the Italian-American Hunting Club. He loved fishing and hunting with his dogs. Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by three sons, Benny Ingenito, Jr. and his wife Mercedes of Homestead, FL, Matthew Ingenito and Joseph Ingenito and his fiancée Traci Gervais, all of Columbia; five adored grandchildren, Roman, Enzo, Joseph Jr., Caitlin and Jonny Ingenito; three sisters, Consiglia Corrado and her husband Giovanni, Antonieta Crescenzo and her husband Tony, all of Rocky Hill, and Luisa Maffucci of Wethersfield; two brothers, Vincent Ingenito and his wife Lucy of Wethersfield and Raffaele Ingenito and his wife Giustina of Hebron; his mother-in-law, Francesca Scalise, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Maria and Antonio Natale, all of Wethersfield, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his father, he was predeceased by his father-in-law, Camillo Scalise and his brother-in-law, Angelo Maffucci. Funeral service will be Monday at 9 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, Wethersfield. The burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours are Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
