

Bernardo Giuliano, of Wethersfield, devoted husband of Maria (DiGrande) Giuliano, passed away suddenly at home on Monday (June 8, 2009). Born on October 2, 1931, in Asmara, Ethiopia, son of the late Vincenzo and Paola (Indirinella) Giuliano. He lived in Sortino, Italy (Province of Siracusa) most of his life until immigrating to the United States in 1960. He worked as a mason in the Hartford area until his retirement. Besides his beloved wife of 41 years, he leaves his loving children, Paula Buonopane and her husband Michael of Wethersfield and Vincent Giuliano of Hartford and his adoring granddaughters, Rebecca and Juliana Buonopane, whom he referred to as 'pupas'. Bernardo is also survived by his only brother, Sebastiano Giuliano and his wife of Italy, many sisters and brothers-in-law of Augusta, Sicily, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Franca DiGrande. Bernardo will always be remembered for his kind and quiet ways, as well as his love of gardening and wine-making. Funeral service will be Thursday, June 11 at 9 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield.
