Biagio 'gino' Lagana

Biagio 'Gino'Lagana, 65, of Wethersfield, the beloved husband of Joyce (Chamberlain) Lagana, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, (August 13, 2008). He was born in Priolo, Sicily, Italy to the late Dominico and Maria (Fallico) Lagana and immigrated to the United States as a young boy. As a young man, Gino established B.G. Lagana, Inc., beginning a successful lifelong career in the construction industry. Gino managed many high-profile building projects throughout the state of CT, earning the respect of both friends and business colleagues. Gino later went on to establish with partners Wethersfield Building Supply and serve as its CEO. Among his favorite activities, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, working on home improvement projects, and following the progress of his favorite soccer and auto racing teams. Besides his wife Joyce, he is survived by his children: Nick Lagana, Theresa Cioffi and her husband Matthew; Gina Burby and her husband Ernie; and Melissa Rodriguez and her husband Richard; and his cherished grandchildren: Domenic, Blaise and Liam Burby, Helena and William Cioffi, and Aaron Rodriguez. Gino also leaves his brothers and their wives: Santo and Concetta Lagana and Ralph and Ida Lagana; his sisters and their husbands: Paula and Anthony Schiavone and Teresa and Benito Santini; his sisters-in-law: Carlene Sladyk, Beverly Chamberlain and Gloria Charbonneau and her husband Burt; his brother-in-law Anthony Montanile; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will begin Monday, August 18th at 9:15 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Incarnation, Wethersfield. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
