Carmela Leconche

Carmela T. 'Lee' (Laspina) LeConche, 92, of West Palm Beach, FL., passed away peacefully on Monday (January 5, 2009). Born in Hartford on September 14, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Laspina and Maria Sinatra Laspina. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Michael LeConche, and her brother, William Laspina. Carmela leaves her three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Mary LeConche of Farmington, William and Leisa LeConche of Rocky Hill, and Richard and Nancy LeConche of West Palm Beach, FL. She also leaves her 11 grandchildren, Michael, Patricia, Tess, Kimberly, Lisa, Thomas, Kathleen, Dawn, William, Lindsey and Matthew and twelve great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and family. Carmela lived most of her life most of her life in Hartford, raised her family and helped her husband in his businesses. She was involved with the Young Italians, PTA, The Sunshine Club and many church and community organizations. Carmela and her husband retired to Florida in 1978 residing for many years in Ft. Lauderdale before moving to West Palm Beach. She had many friends with whom she shared her retirement life with. She lived a long and full life and will be greatly missed. We love you, Mom. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a celebration of Carmela's life with a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday January 12, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church, 285 Church Street, Hartford. Burial will follow in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, One Cottage Grove Road, Bloomfield. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
