
Caroline (Ceraso) Sicilia, 100, of Glastonbury, formerly of Wethersfield, beloved wife of the late Frank P. Sicilia, passed away Saturday (December 10, 2011). She was born September 1, 1911 in Vandergrift, PA the daughter of the late Frank and Angelina (Gervasi) Ceraso. She was a communicant of Corpus Church, a past member of the Wethersfield Art League, and a member of the Wadsworth Athenaeum Museum. In her twilight years, she enjoyed writing poetry. Caroline shared her poems with family and friends. She also had a great appreciation for music, especially opera. Caroline is survived by a son Alexander Sicilia and his wife Frances of Upland, CA; two daughters Dolores DiFazio and her husband Alfred of Wethersfield and Emily Vazzano and her husband Joseph of Glastonbury; a brother Pasquale ""Chuck"" Ceraso and his wife Marguerite; two sisters Edivegie Calizzi and Emma Raschiatore and her husband Deverd five loving grandchildren Richard, Peter, Christina, Isabelle and Frank and ten great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters Letty Buccieri and Louise Luisi. Caroline lived totally for her children and loving family.
Funeral services will leave Tuesday December 13th at 10:15 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield, for an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Calling hours are Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations in Caroline's memory may be made to East Hartford VNA, 111 Founders Plaza, Suite 200, East Hartford, CT 06108.
