

Schultz, Cora Violet (Green) Wilkos On Sunday, January 25, 2009, our beloved Mema entered into the Lord?s embrace. She was born on October 4, 1918 in Bristol, CT to LeRoy and Annie (Kelly) Green. As a child, Cora traveled the country with her family and her father?s Big Band orchestra, LeRoy Green & His Bostonians. She eventually settled in Hartford and married the late Julius Wilkos, Sr. Together, they won many Ballroom Dance competitions throughout the East Coast.Cora was a successful sales department manager at Marholin?s furniture store in downtown Hartford.After her retirement, she married the late Andrew J. Schultz, with whom she shared a rewarding and active life of community service in Old Lyme. Her involvement in many volunteer organizations included: President of American Legion Auxiliary, Unit #41, Old Lyme, CT; Member of P.T. Boats, Inc., Ron 22; President of Old Lyme Senior Club; Officer of Old Lyme Estuary Council; Member of Old Lyme Grange; Officer of Old Lyme Fire Department Women?s Auxiliary; Officer of Soundview Beach Association, who also honored her as 'Woman of the Year'. Cora is survived by a daughter Linda Caruso of Rocky Hill, a son Julius F. Wilkos, Jr. of Cromwell, a former son-in-law Albert Carilli of West Hartford; a former daughter-in-law Janie Kissane of Florida; eight grandchildren, Mark Carilli and his wife Melissa, Joseph Carilli and his wife Melissa, all of Coventry, James Carilli and his wife Debbie of Virginia, Jerry Carilli and his wife Judy of Lebanon, Christine Blaskiewicz and her husband William, Patti Silva and her husband Manuel, Andrea Zurzola and her husband Mark all of Wethersfield, Michelle Chacanias and her husband George of Florida. She also leaves behind many beloved great-grandchildren including Liliana, Manuel and Gabriela Silva, Olivia and Zachary Zurzola, and Hunter Chacanias who were blessed to have spent so many treasured moments with her, as well as the Carilli great-grandchildren, Mark, William, James, David, Brian, Brendan, Jessica, Michelle, Brianna, Jennifer and Justine. She was predeceased by a daughter, Joyce Carilli-Bellard and her husband Roger Bellard, son-in-law Pasquale R. Caruso, a brother LeRoy S. Green, III and sisters Dorothy Hainey and Eunice Gehl. Cora also leaves many good friends both in Old Lyme (who knew her as 'Jan') and Executive Square in Wethersfield. Cora?s family would like to thank the staff at Wethersfield Health Care Center, and especially Dr. Rick Soucier for his gentle guidance and compassion. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, January 28th from 5-8pm at D?Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 29th, 11am at Corpus Christi Church, 84 Somerset Street, Wethersfield. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
