David R. Schlapfer

David R. Schlapfer, 44, of Wethersfield, loving husband of Michele (Kimball) Schlapfer, passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, (December 7, 2006). He was born September 19, 1962 in Torrington and is the son of Rene and Gertrude (Marquis) Schlapfer of Torrington. David was a graduate of Torrington High School, Class of 1980 and served in the US Army. He graduated from Post College and attained his masters degree from the University of Hartford. He was employed by MetLife Insurance Co. He was a member of the Wethersfield United Methodist Church. David believed that family was the most important thing in life. He will be dearly missed. Besides his wife and his parents, he is survived by two sons, Adam R. and Jacob R. Schlapfer; a brother, Kevin R. Schlapfer and his wife, Julie of Millbrook, NY.; a nephew, Alex P. Schlapfer; his mother-in-law, Janet Kimball of West Hartford; as well as many uncles and aunts, among them a very dear and special aunt, Jean Schlapfer of Torrington. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday (December 16) at 2 p.m. at the Wethersfield United Methodist Church, 150 Prospect Street, Wethersfield, with the Rev. Thomas J. Vencuss and the Rev. Wendy A. Vencuss officiating. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the CT.
