Deborah Ann (Deary) Briggs, 69, of Rocky Hill, passed away peacefully into the afterlife on the morning of Saturday, August 16, 2025. Deborah was born in Hartford on January 24, 1956, the daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa (Proulx) Deary.
Debbie spent her childhood in Stafford, where she was a 1974 graduate of Stafford High. This is where she met the late Gary Briggs, to whom she was married to for 39 years, raising their family in Wethersfield. She will be deeply missed by her children: Amy Sardo and her husband Salvatore of Wethersfield, and Ryan of West Hartford; her grandchildren: Emily, Damian, and Dominic; her brothers: Joseph Deary II, and Richard Deary and his wife Lisa.
Over the past 28 years Debbie tirelessly worked at Select Dental in Rocky Hill, where she made lifelong friendships with her co-workers and patients. She could always be counted on for her consistent hard work and skill in making everyone that came through the doors treated with respect and comfort.
If you had only one word to describe her, one that immediately comes to mind is selfless; she wouldn’t think to put her loved one’s needs before her own and was generous with her time, attention and affection. She felt complete when she was able to spend time with her children, relaxing at the pool, visiting her brothers in Florida, and creating memories with her grandchildren whom she adored.
Debbie was an avid reader, loved listening to podcasts and classic rock, and was building a diverse record collection. She will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by anyone who was lucky enough to share even a few moments with her.
Deborah’s life will be celebrated on Sunday, September 21, from 12-3 at: Solomon Welles House, 220 Hartford Avenue, Wethersfield, CT 06109.
