

Delia Petronilla (Lucente) Santilli, 88, of Newington, beloved wife for 49 years of the late Agostino G. Santilli, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. Born on January 24, 1928 in Pratola Peligna, province of L’Aquila, Region of Abruzzi, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Michele and Anna (Pizzoferrato) Lucente. Delia worked as a transportation aide in the healthcare field for many years. She was a longtime, faithful communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Newington. She enjoyed cooking and gardening but most of all, she cherished time with her family. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be dearly missed by her son, Domenic Santilli and wife Marsha of Wallingford; two adored grandchildren, Daniel Santilli and Laura Beth Canby and husband Michael and two cherished great-granddaughters, Aubrey and Kylie Canby. She is also survived by her sister, Maria DiBacco of Pratola Peligna and her sister-in-law, Iole Lucente of Rocky Hill and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Peter and Aldo Lucente and her sister-in-law, Nunziatina Lucente.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday (January 21) at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 626 Willard Ave., Newington. Burial will follow in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday prior to the Mass, from 9-10 a.m., at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
