Diane (Palmieri) Marcuccio, beloved wife and best friend of John Marcuccio, passed away peacefully on the morning of June 8, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Many years ago the Lord our Father sent a baby angel girl to this earth whose purpose was to touch the lives of many with her love, gentleness, warmth, compassion and sensitivity. Diane was a special and loving person, the true embodiment of unconditional love. Diane was born in New Britain, in 1933 the daughter of the late William and Mary Lou (Knapp) Palmieri, and grew up in New Britain and Elmwood. She graduated from Hall High School in 1951 and worked at Hamilton Standard until 1959. She married in 1964 and moved to Rocky Hill, where she resided for 50 years. She celebrates her 50th wedding anniversary to her husband John in August. Diane was predeceased by her first son John Marcuccio Jr., and her brother William Palmieri. She leaves behind her beloved son Gregg Marcuccio of Canton and his wife Haylee, and grandchildren Cole and Gabrielle; her very devoted sister Cynthia Mitchell of Baltic, and her dear devoted friend of 50 years Patricia Gutkoski, both who helped care for her dearly toward the end of her journey; and her husband's first cousin Marie Cabanas, who introduced Diane to her husband John in 1961, and was a close and special friend throughout her life, talking to her daily for many years. Diane is so grateful for the loving care of family and friends including her many cousins Fredrica, Norma, Darcie and Carolee, nieces and nephews, and all those involved in her medical care including Dr. Klatsky and Dr. Dekker, the staff at the Harry Gray Cancer Center, and the kind people with hospice. Diane was a devout Catholic and member of St. Peters Church, in Hartford. She always looked forward to attending the holy sacrifice of the mass with her husband John and receiving the body and blood of her Lord Jesus Christ. She would especially like to thank Fr. Dairo E. Diaz, Fr. Michael Galasso, and Fr. Edmund O'Brien. Funeral services will leave Thursday, June 12th at 9:15 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, 160 Main Street, Hartford.
