

Dorothea Mary (Grant) Devanney, 74, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of the late Robert W. Devanney, passed away Saturday (March 19, 2011). She was born September 15, 1936 in Passaic, NJ, the daughter of the late Henry Grant and Dorothea (Willis) Phillips. Prior to her retirement Dorothea was employed by Hartford Hospital and then A & L Keypunch. Dorothea is survived by four sons Robert A. Devanney and his wife Debra of Hebron, Steven T. Devanney and his wife Nancy of Wethersfield, Bruce R. Devanney of Marlborough, and Michael Patrick Devanney and his wife Shelley of Rocky Hill; a brother Charles Phillips and his wife Jian of Allentown, PA; and nine loving grandchildren, Thomas, Ryan, Meghan and her husband William Endicott, Angela, Erin, Lauren, Shelby, Connor and Maddison. She was predeceased by a grandson Michael Patrick Devanney Jr. and two sisters, Patricia Liebovich and Geraldine Crane. Dorothea's family would like to thank the staff of Maple View Manor especially Daphne, Denise, Michael and Godwin. Funeral services will leave Tuesday, March 22, at 9:15 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Luke Church, 66 Bolton Street, Hartford. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield. Calling hours are Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
