Elaine Jordan Brady

Elaine Jordan Brady, 76, of Wethersfield, passed away surrounded by family on August 31, 2014. Born to Francis and Cora (Bouvier) Jordan in 1938, she grew up in Hartford. Before her retirement, Elaine worked as a nursing unit secretary in the pediatric wing of Hartford Hospital and in the office of George E. Mcgowan, MD. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 34 years, Harold B. Brady; her son, Francis John “Buck” Brady and her brothers-in-law, Francis Marek and Gerard Ringstad. She leaves behind her beloved best friend and partner of 22 years, Robert Desjardins. Elaine’s life will be celebrated by her five children and their spouses: Scott and Sandra Brady of Vernon, Colleen and William Santaniello of Suffield, Erin and Jack Smith of Willington, William and Lisa Brady of Rocky Hill and Matthew Brady and Gloria Thurman of San Jose, CA and her cherished grandchildren, Brady Allen; Benjamin, Jordan, Rachel, Ryan and Samantha Brady; Adam, Annie and Nicholas Santaniello; and Jake, Jaime and Emily Smith. She will also be missed by her three sisters, Frances Marek, Judy Allaire and her husband Arthur and Linda Ringstad, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and Daisy, her Great Dane.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
