Nonna Elena noi ti amiamo Elena Giammarco, 88, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of the late Lino Giammarco for 68 years, entered into eternal life peacefully, Friday, August 18, 2017 surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her home. Elena was born March 3, 1929 in Campo di Fano, Abruzzo, Italy and was the daughter of the late Nazareno and Ersilia Giammarco. Elena was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who dedicated her life caring for her family. She was the happiest with a house full of people with plenty of food and laughter. Her passion was cooking and gardening. Elena is survived by her daughters, Dora Sessa, Denise D'Amico and sons, Arnaldo Giammarco and wife, Sharon and Pietro Giammarco and wife, Susan. She also leaves her loving grandchildren, Vincenzo Sessa and wife, Roseann, John D'Amico and wife, Louise, Mary Elena Irizarry and husband, Jose, Lindsay Robinson and husband, Jason, Lauren Miller and husband, Stephen, Blair, Robert and Michael Giammarco. She also leaves behind her sisters-in-law, Maria Giammarco, Evelina Moffa and Marie Indan and brother-in-laws; Anthony Giammarco and Sisto Moffa. Also, 8 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and friends she adored. She was predeceased by her brother, Gentile Giammarco and son-in-law, Michael Sessa and sister-in-law, Filomena Giammarco. The family would like to thank Elena's hospice nurses from Hartford Hospital Healthcare. Funeral service will be Tuesday (August 22) at 9:00 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Entombment will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours are Monday (August 21) from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
