Elizabeth Mae (Olsen) McKinney

Elizabeth Mae (Olsen) McKinney, 89, of Rocky Hill, beloved wife for 61 years of the late William Henry McKinney, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 10, 2015. Born in Middletown on January 22, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Adolph and Alma (Larson) Olsen. Elizabeth graduated from Pratt High School in Essex. She lived in Rocky Hill for more than 50 years and served as a Deaconess at the Rocky Hill Congregational Church. She also belonged to the Hillside Garden Club and worked at the local polling stations for years, as well as volunteering her time for the Red Cross. A loving mother and grandmother, Elizabeth will be dearly missed by her son, Alan McKinney and his wife Judy of Auburn, ME; two daughters, Joan Carlson and her husband George of Glastonbury and Judy Frascarelli and her husband Art of Colchester and her two beloved granddaughters, Lisa and Eileen McKinney. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert Olsen and her sister, Beverly Zanardi. The family would like to thank Elizabeth’s ICU Nurse at Hartford Hospital, Lisa Graziano, as well as the entire Hospice team at Hartford Hospital for their care and support.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday (June 20) at 11 a.m. at Rocky Hill Congregational Church, 805 Old Main St., Rocky Hill. Burial will be private and there are no calling hours.
