

lizabeth ""Betty"" (Cwikla) Vignati 88 of New Britain and formerly of West Hartford and West Palm Beach FL, loving wife of 55 years of the late Judge Francis C. Vignati, passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 4 2018 at Arbor Rose in New Britain. Born in Hartford on September 15 1929, a daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes Cwikla, she had resided in East Hartford for 40 years prior to moving to West Hartford several years ago. Betty was a graduate of Bulkeley High School in Hartford Class of 1947 and St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing where she earned her degree in Nursing. After starting a family Betty left her nursing career and was a devoted and proud wife mother and grandmother. She had a passion for golf and was a former member of Wampanoag Country Club in West Hartford and Bear Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach FL. Betty loved spending time at her home in West Palm Beach FL and also enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. Betty is survived by her five cherished children Francis C. Vignati Jr. and his wife Janis of Glastonbury Susan V. Senerth and her husband Mark of West Hartford Peter Vignati and his wife Susanne of Bloomfield Paul V. Vignati M.D. and his wife Susan of West Hartford John Vignati M.D. and his wife Colleen of Alton NH; a sister Marion Morrissey of Lansdale PA; a sister-in-law Janella Vignati of Wethersfield; sixteen special grandchildren; two adored great-grandchildren; many nieces nephews and dear friends. Along with her beloved husband and parents Betty was predeceased by two brothers Ted Cwikla of Windsor Joseph Cwikla of West Hartford; and two sisters Bertha Growski of Coventry Frances Ives of Glastonbury. Funeral service will be Saturday (April 7th) with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am at St. Peter Claver Church 47 Pleasant Street West Hartford. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery West Hartford. Betty's family has asked that everyone please go directly to the church on Saturday morning. Relatives and friends may call at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel 277 Folly Brook Blvd Wethersfield on Friday (April 6th) from 4-7 pm.
