

Emma S. (Carbone) Taddei, 103, of West Hartford, beloved wife of the late Carmine Taddei, passed away peacefully on Monday (May 16, 2011). Born on January 22, 1908 in Rocca Casale Province, L'Aquila, Italy she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe Domenico and Carolina (Cipriana) Carbone. Emma worked at Travelers and when she retired, she helped her son Nicholas at Kenny's Restaurant in Hartford. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, there was nothing Emma enjoyed more than spending time with her family. She was a great cook, specializing in Italian Wedding soup. A devout Catholic, Emma's faith was very important to her. She is survived by two sons, Riccardo Taddei and his wife Aurora of Manchester and Nicholas Taddei and his wife Yolanda of West Hartford; two daughters, Carole Gallicchio and her husband Rocco and Adelia D'Elisio and her husband Antonio, all of Newington; her brother, Nicola Carbone of Deerfield, FL; her sister, Laura Colella of Italy; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Emma was predeceased by her daughter, Maria Mancini; her sister, Anna Torrelli;and her brother, Antonio Carbone. Funeral services will leave Friday, May 20 at 9 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Spirit Church, 183 Church St., Newington. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours are TODAY from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
