

Erminia (DiBacco) Cerasani, 83, of Newington, beloved wife of the late Giovanni Cerasani, passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, July 5, 2016. Born in Pratola Peligna, province of L’Aquila, Italy on November 2, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Sante and Elena (Palombizio) DiBacco. Erminia worked for many years at Hartford Hospital, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be dearly missed by her two sons, Claudio and Roberto Cerasani, both of Cromwell; her four adored granddaughters, Daniela Petosa and husband Justin, Melissa Monroe and husband Troy, Vanessa Santos and husband Michael and Adriana Cerasani and four cherished great-grandchildren, Sophia and Liam Monroe and Braeden and Lucas Petosa. She is also survived by her brother, Victor DiBacco and wife Victoria of Wethersfield; two sisters, Maria Iacobucci of Newington and Settimia Civitareale of Italy; sisters-in-law, Maria DiBacco, Diana DiBacco and Assunta Santilli and husband Antonio, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Erminia was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Lucia Cerasani and three brothers, Lorenzo, Gino and Mario DiBacco.
The funeral will leave Saturday (July 9th) at 9:30 a.m. from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Family and friends may call on Saturday morning from 8-9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
